Robert’s ‘track record demonstrates leadership’

I'm writing to enthusiastically support Laura Robert, formerly Fragasso, for the Wellesley NRC.

A long-term resident of Wellesley and town meeting member since 2011, many of us know Laura as a passionate, approachable and informed champion of Wellesley's natural resources. Laura's track record - as a co-founder of Art in the Park and Friends of Brookside - demonstrates her leadership in building community support for both creative and responsible use of our public spaces and natural resources. Where many of us see a lovely park or forest, a picturesque drive for cars and pedestrians or empty storefronts in Wellesley Square, Laura thinks in terms of preserving and protecting Wellesley Town Forest and its aquifer providing clean drinking water, designating Brookside Road as a scenic way for future generations to enjoy, creative use of town parks and empty storefronts as exhibition space for local artists, finding ways to engage the public in stewardship of our beautiful green spaces.

Laura justly earned her own designation as a "Wellesley Townsman 10" treasured resource for leadership in 2011.

Please join me in voting her to the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission on March 6.

Laura Robert will bring ‘real, material accomplishments’

I have known Laura Robert for several years, as a member of Town Meeting and the Wellesley Arts Alliance (WAA). Laura is both a thinker and a doer, and brings her passion for the community into everything she is engaged with. I have experienced first hand her willingness to jump in and work for things she cares about. Her achievements supporting the local arts (Art in the Park, Wellesley Community Art Project, WAA, etc.) are representative of what she will bring to the NRC — real, material accomplishments. I know she will be an active, thoughtful member of the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission, and I urge you to join me in voting for her.

Robert has ‘all the best qualities’ for NRC

I'm writing in support of Laura Robert, (formerly Fragasso), a candidate for one of two open seats on the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission.

I've known Laura for many years and work closely with her on the Friends of Brookside. I'm also a past member of the Natural Resources Commission, and I recognize in Laura all the best qualities which make her ideal for carrying out the environmental stewardship mission of the NRC.

Laura spearheaded the Friends of Brookside in 2010 to protect and preserve the area near Longfellow Pond, a well-head protection area which supplies our town's drinking water. She worked with citizens, organizations, and elected officials throughout town to generate awareness and support for the historical, environmental, recreational, and scenic qualities of the area.

Laura listens, questions, strategizes, and informs. She understands how necessary it is for groups with sometimes differing objectives to work together, and she possesses the important ability to identify and assemble all stakeholders. This is Laura Robert's great strength.

Please join me in voting for Laura Robert for the Natural Resources Commission on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

Robert Brings 'balanced perspective' to NRC

I’m writing to ask you to join me in voting for Laura (Fragasso) Robert to fill one of the two open seats on the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission. I’ve come to know Laura and the work of the NRC through my many years of volunteering in Wellesley. Laura will bring her balanced perspective to a board whose work touches on the development of athletic facilities, maintaining our parks and ponds, and protecting our trees -- all while focusing on the core mission of safeguarding our natural resources. A 27-year resident of Wellesley, Laura raised her two children here and her son Mike has now returned to coach varsity baseball at Wellesley High School. Laura’s passionate commitment to Wellesley is evident in her service as a 5-year Town Meeting Member, as the co-founder of the annual Art in the Park project, and as the co-founder of the neighborhood group Friends of Brookside that works to protect Wellesley’s natural beauty and drinking water. As an insurance account executive at Sun Life, Laura is accustomed to working collaboratively on complex issues and planning for the future. She is the ideal choice for the NRC. I urge you to vote for Laura on Tuesday, March 6.
