Co-founder of Friends of Brookside
Laura co-founded the Friends of Brookside
in 2010 to protect the natural environment on the east side of Wellesley, particularly the Town Forest, which protects the underground aquifer that supplies our drinking water. The mission of the Friends of Brookside is to raise awareness and educate the public about the role of this area in safeguarding our water, providing recreation, and supporting wildlife habitat. Each spring, Laura organizes neighbors for a clean-up of the area to remove litter and maintain the natural beauty of Brookside Road. Laura also spearheaded the successful effort to have Brookside Road designated as a Scenic Road in 2011.
